The Shipping Brow Gallery is excited to host a brand new exhibition showcasing ten emerging and contemporary artists from across Cumbria. Our 2026 cohort spans printmaking, illustration, oil painting and drawing and gives young artists an opportunity to exhibit in our iconic harbourside gallery. Our site houses the world’s largest permanent collection of work by Cumbrian favourite Percy Kelly and 19th century maritime painter William Mitchell, bringing together Cumbria’s past, present and future in art under one roof.

The show kicks off with a preview on Tuesday 18th August 2026 from 6-8pm in our gallery at 1 Senhouse Street, Maryport, CA15 6AB. Our show runs until Sunday 20th September 2026 and is available to view for free during opening hours (Wednesdays-Sundays, 11-4pm).
