Our second free painting symposium at The Birley, Preston, following on from a truly uplifting symposium last year. Participants asked for another event and we have delivered with the help of funds raised through Arts Council England, Lottery Fund, Spacehive and Crowdfund Lancashire. This year we have the pleasure of hosting 10 women painters from the north, who will generously share their practice rituals, inspirations and insights into how the work is informed and made. The audience can ask questions and discover an understanding of how critically engaged, professional painters sustain a practice in a contemporary art landscape.
