Winsford Town Centre: Artwork on External Wall

We would like to invite a professional artist who has experience of working with local communities to develop and co-create a vibrant and engaging artwork in the public realm.
The site for the artwork will be an external wall that is close to Winsford Market, in the town centre.

The artwork will serve as a visual landmark, enhancing the market’s visibility, celebrating the town’s character and identity. As part of a wider programme of improvements, it aims to attract more people to the market, the town and contribute to the emerging cultural vibrancy.

Timeframe
Oct 2025 – Feb 2026: Research, development and creative engagement
March – April 2026: Design development and engagement
Spring 2026: Artwork in situ

Budget: for the commission is £22,000 excl. VAT
This will include the artist fee, materials, fabrication and other relevant costs
Note: the cost of the wall preparation and installation of scaffolding will be covered by a different budget

Deadline for expression of interest: 12noon on Thursday 2nd October 2025
