Development Manager job at Manchester Art Gallery
Manchester Art Gallery is the city’s civic gallery. Development of our collections, exhibitions, and extensive programme of socially engaged activities, all aimed at local residents, is only possible through external fundraising from private and public sources. This fundraising is carried out by a small but successful Development Team.
The Development Manager will bring an engaged and ethical approach and be a strong advocate for the Gallery. They will have a good overview of all team activity – public funding, individual giving, membership, sponsorship – but will have a particular focus on securing and managing grants from trusts and foundations.
They will research, identify and get to know a wide range of cultural and charitable funders, and work with colleagues from across the gallery to create compelling and persuasive applications. The Development Manager will deliver robust and timely evaluation and financial reports and work with the Gallery’s Communications Team to ensure funders are well promoted and credited. They will maintain robust records and have a good understanding of data management.
The Development Manager line manages the Friends Coordinator, supporting them to increase and retain membership through an exciting supporters’ programme.
